The film is directed by Aussie helmer Steve Jacobs. It's been quite a while between drinks for Jacobs, whose previous film was the fractured and unsatisfying 2001 effort La Spagnola. Despite seemingly agreeing to Lurie's advances, she does not reciprocate his feelings and eventually reports him to the university administration. Forced to face a disciplinary hearing, he refuses to contest the charges and is forced to resign.
